Gorilla Closeup lodge shares the boundary with Bwindi Impenetrable National park on its Southern sector of Nkuringo and Rushagagorilla tracking/gorilla feeding range. Lodge GPS coordinates: LATITUDE S1°-6’-10” S1.10279, LONGTUDE E29°391’1” E29.650405, ALTITUDE 2015.9m above sea level. The lodge is sometimes visited by Nkuringo Gorilla group and some times you can be lucky to see them on every close range from your room window once they are feeding on myrica, eucayliptus leaves, Fans and many other shrubs next to the rooms as some times they are feeding on our lodge land. The lodge is eco friendly built with alot of local materials. We have 6 different types of cottages and rooms each with a unique design and setup and pricing. We serve English breakfast, 4 course meals, packed lunches, complementary tea and organic coffee in rooms, free room service and free Wi-Fi internet.
We give special price to tour operators, clients booking with us for the first time, families, special discount for long stays, researchers and volunteers, 10% discount for advance payment. Don’t hesitate to contact us we market through services and pricing. Double the fan half the price.
We offer airport pickups and drop off to Kigali and Entebbe on request.
Notes:
- Rack rates are standard rates to public clients/individual bookings
- Our meals are normall 3 course meals(Starter,Main course & Desert)
- Half board is Bed,Breakafst Lunch or Dineer( 2 meals)
- Full Board are 3 meals in a day (Bed,Breakfast,lunch & Dinner or Dinner and Packed lunch)
- Full board does not include drinks
- Full Board Extra includes on a room per person all meals (Bed+Breakfast+Lunch/packed lunch+Dinner) plus per person all soft drinks+4 beers or 1 bottle of wine
- Atleast 30% of full price should be paid at the time of the booking and balance paid atleast 14 days of arrival
- We accept last minute bookings
- In case of lack of communication in writing if you have not paid the lodge has a right to cancel your booking
- Booking 30% is non refundable in case you cancel
Children Rates:
- Children below 5 years of age are accommodated free of charge.
- Children from the age of 6 to 14 pay 50% of the adult rate if sharing with parents.
- Children aged 15 and over will be charged at adult rates.
- Babysitting services are available at the lodge at low extra cost.
Last minute Gorilla tracking permits and active Nyiragongo Volcano Trekking/Hiking Permits available.
Rafiki Crafted Rooms each: It has 4 rooms double/Twin – occupancy 8 pax. Rafiki is delived from a Swahili word meaning a friend and this is a name of one of the gorillas in nkuringo group that frequently visited this lodge and the spot it used to rest from.
Royal crafted cottages: 4 Roomed crafted cottages self contained twin/double rooms -8 pax all with Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Views.
Royal Luxury family cottages with 2 rooms, 5 beds, private kitchen fully equipped, a standby private chef or do self catering. It has a big balcony overlooking the forest- occupancy 6 to 7 people.
Jungle Luxury Family cottages with 3 rooms 6 beds all suitable for double/twin occupies up to 6 to 8 pax and it has spacious rooms that we could add extra bed in each room in case of need
Dian Fossey cottages: These are special cottages built in memory of Dian Fossey whose research on mountain Gorillas has contributed a lot on conservation and Gorilla tracking currently. She used to camp at the very spot where the cottages are built during her research time. It has a lot of information on gorillas
George Schaller Cottages: These are Luxury double/Twin cottages that werebuilt in the honour of Dr.George Schaller visted Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in 1959 and immediately started research on mountain Gorillas. Stay in these cottages to enjoy all his publications on mountain gorillas.
Silverback Luxury Cottages: Double/Twin occupancy cottages which on most occasions Bahati Silverback gorilla from nkuringo gorilla group would be sited resting and enjoying the backs of myrica tree,and othershrubs. These are round cottages reflecting African traditional housing with spacious window views overlooking the forest with sounds of Nature.
